As members of a truly international organisation. Lions' horizons are much broader than the boundaries of their own country. They are in partnership with lions throughout the world. The true meaning of friendship can be discovered worldwide through Lionism. At home and abroad, there are always fellow lions to call on for fellowship and, if need be, practical assistance.
"Clean Water" is still the desperate cry from Indian and African villages to stop the tide of disease. Lions Clubs world wide rich and poor alike have sponsored and sunk water wells over the two continents and brought health and joy to thousands.
"Eye Camps" have given back the sight to many thousands of suffers of cataracts and glaucoma. Caerffili Lions Club have sponsored over 2000 sight saving operations. as well as making annual donations to the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
Peace Poster
The Peace poster competition is organised annually by Lions clubs throughout the world. Winners from the local competitions go forward to a local district final with the winners of the district finals going onto a United Kingdom final, the winner of which gets a trip to the UN building in New York to represent the UK in the international final.
