The Bikeathon
In July of this year some 70 local children got on their bikes in an event organised by the club to raise money for the Noah's Ark childrens hospital for Wales. The event was started by the Newport Gwent Dragons director of rugby, Andy Marinos.
At the end of 2 hours of exercise with plenty of stops to take on squash and crisps kindly provided by the Safeways store in Caerphilly a total of over £1,500 had been raised towards this very worthy cause. The cheque for which was handed over to members of the charity at a musical cheese and wine evening organised in the Castle.
